Everything was black.
A slender, human woman appeared, not looking at her.
Suddenly, the woman gazed right into her eyes and the skin around her nose started to peel away.
The woman exhaled deeply, her icy-blue eyes glittering coldly.

Jaina awakened by a knock on her door.
Oh funny, I fell asleep again. She thought, staring at the thing she had slept on: Her report about the battle of Ithor.
The Vong had retreated after their commando team on the Ralroost had died by her hand. Ithor was save, at least for some time.
Reaching out with her senses, she hurried to the door and opened it. Outside, her uncle waited. She waved him in quickly.
“Hi Uncle Luke.”
“Jaina, I need to talk to you.”
“Please, have a seat.”
The only seat available in the room was the one she’d just been sitting on and she had expected the Jedi-Master to take
it, but he simply plumped onto her bed.
Jaina sat down on Anni’s bed, opposite of him.
“How’s Mara?” Jaina asked softly.
“Not very good. The disease is weakening her much more than she wants me to know.” Luke sighed deeply.
“Actually, that’s part of why I came. I have a special mission for you. I need someone I can entirely trust. You’ll
go to Wayland.”
Luke let the information sink in.
“A day ago, a Yuuzhan Vong priestess and her….pet or something like that were captured by a ship near Exodo II.
They have asked for asylum and claim to know a cure for Mara’s disease. They want to meet with the Jedi, but it’s
almost too good to be anything but a trap. I need you to have a look at them and see whether they are trustworthy.”
“I’ll need to get some days off from the Rouges.” Jaina murmured.
“Don’t worry, I have my connections.” Luke grinned.
“Take all the time you need. You have to be really sure about it.”
“Okay, then I’ll pack my things now. Can I fly there in my X-Wing?”
“Sure.” Luke rose and smiled at her.
“You can take R2 with you if you want to.”
“I’m really happy you’re a Master now. There are so many tasks I’ll need someone with your skills
for.” Luke said finally and left.
I won't disappoint you. Jaina promised silently.
